Water heater replacement with capacity review
An end-of-life unit replaced after a demand review, with corrected isolation and a serviceable connection layout.

The goal
What the project needed to achieve
Replace a failing water heater and address a household that had grown out of the previous capacity.
Approach
How it was handled
- 01The existing unit was diagnosed first — replacement was recommended only after the fault was confirmed as tank-related.
- 02Sizing was based on the actual fixture group and morning demand pattern rather than a default model.
- 03Isolation valves and unions were added so the next service visit is simpler.
- 04The homeowner was shown the shutoff, the relief discharge and the recommended maintenance interval.
Installed components
What went in
A component list makes a project record useful years later, when somebody needs to service what was installed.
- Replacement storage water heater
- New isolation valves and dielectric-appropriate connections
- Temperature and pressure relief discharge piping
- Drain pan arrangement where applicable
- Removal and disposal of the previous unit
