The goal

What the project needed to achieve

The homeowners wanted a wider vanity on the opposite wall, a curbless-feeling shower and fixtures that would be straightforward to service later.

Approach

How it was handled

  • 01Drawings and fixture selections were reviewed before demolition so rough-in dimensions could be confirmed rather than assumed.
  • 02Drain slope was checked against the available joist space before committing to the new vanity position.
  • 03Shutoffs were replaced while the wall was open so future service does not require opening finished surfaces.
  • 04Rough-in was completed and inspected before tile work began, keeping the trade sequence intact.

Installed components

What went in

A component list makes a project record useful years later, when somebody needs to service what was installed.

  • New supply lines and quarter-turn shutoff valves
  • Relocated lavatory drain and vent connection
  • Pressure-balanced shower valve
  • Wall-hung vanity with dual basins
  • Comfort-height toilet on a reset flange
