Accessibility
Accessibility statement
People often reach a plumbing website during a stressful moment, sometimes one-handed, sometimes on a slow connection. Accessibility is part of that being usable.
Approach
This site is built to align with WCAG 2.2 Level AA as a working target. That target is an ongoing commitment rather than a certification, and no compliance claim is made on behalf of a real business here.
What is implemented
- Semantic HTML structure with a single main landmark and a skip link to it
- Keyboard access to all interactive controls, including the navigation menus, filters, accordions and forms
- Visible focus indicators that meet a clear contrast against their background
- Accordions, tabs and disclosure controls with appropriate ARIA state and relationships
- Form fields with associated labels, inline error messages, an error summary and programmatic error association
- Descriptive alternative text on photography, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology
- Text that reflows without horizontal scrolling on small screens and at increased zoom
- Support for the reduced-motion preference, which disables non-essential animation and smooth scrolling
- Colour contrast checked for body text, headings and interface controls
- Touch targets sized for one-handed use, with a persistent call and request-service bar on mobile
Known limitations
- The service-area diagram is a stylised schematic with a text description; it is not an interactive map
- Photography is licensed stock imagery, so alternative text describes the image rather than a specific project
- Third-party tools added later — maps, review feeds, booking or chat widgets — will need their own accessibility review
Alternatives to using this website
Anything that can be done on this site can be done by telephone instead. If a page or form creates a barrier, call and a person can take the details directly.
Reporting a barrier
If something on this site is difficult or impossible to use, we want to know. Send a description of the page and what happened through the contact form, or call. A real deployment should name a responsible contact and a target response time here.
