Basement development rough-in and bathroom addition
A new below-grade bathroom and wet bar roughed in as part of a full basement development.

The goal
What the project needed to achieve
Add a three-piece bathroom and wet bar to an unfinished basement while keeping the rest of the house in service.
Approach
How it was handled
- 01The available drain invert was confirmed first, because it determines what layout is actually possible below grade.
- 02Slab cutting was planned to minimise the opening and keep dust controlled.
- 03Isolation allowed the rest of the home to keep water throughout the project.
- 04Inspection stages were booked against the contractor's schedule so framing and insulation were not delayed.
Installed components
What went in
A component list makes a project record useful years later, when somebody needs to service what was installed.
- Below-slab drainage for shower, lavatory and toilet
- Vent connections tied into the existing stack
- Wet bar supply and drain
- Rough-in valves for the new shower
- Complete fixture set at finishing stage
